Lakes —

There are no lakes here, but the community is very close to Glenmore Reservoir – a primary source of drinking water for Calgary. Families can enjoy sailing, fishing, and boating here. Demographics

As per the 2016 Census of Canada, 3,440 people lived in 1,715 private households that year. Almost 60% of the people fall between the age group of 15 and 64 years. The community has a large population (about 30%) of seniors above the age of 65. Most of the families in this neighbourhood are couples without children at home.

Almost 90% of the population is made up of Canadian citizens. The immigrant population is made up of people from the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia.

About 60% of the dwellings in Palliser are occupied by their owners, while the rest are rented out.

Developer/builder/history

The community of Palliser was named after Captain Joh Palliser, a renowned Canadian Geographer, and explorer of the 1800s. Development of the neighbourhood began in 1967. Until as recently as 1991, the area of Palliser included the neighbouring region of Pump Hill. However, since that time, Pump Hill and Palliser have been regarded as two separate communities. Although both neighbourhoods have the same reputation, houses here in Palliser are more affordable.
